Ulhas River
Ulhas River is a river of western India. It originates near Karjat in the Western Ghats Range, and flows westward through Raigad and Thane districts of Maharashtra between Kulgaon-Badlapur, north to Ulhasnagar (to which it gives its name) and on to Kalyan, where it turns west to Thane.

I had these shrimp in my aquarium for ages, and i always thought that they were “Wood Shrimp”. However, recently, Sankpal (an aquarist from MAS), helped me ID them correctly as “Rainbow Shrimp”.
Here are some pictures of the “Rainbow Shrimp” from my aquarium. They are also called the “The Indian Dwarf Shrimp”.

I have always wanted a beautiful goldfish pond. But then, given that I live in an apartment, it has remained a distant dream. (I guess its one of the trade-offs for living in the city).
So i tried making the next best thing that came close to a land-water-air combination: a paludarium. I’ve wanted to make one for quite some time but never found the time, until now that is…
A goldfish paludarium is a controversial subject amongst serious aquarists because of the large space requirements of goldfish’s and the fact that a paludarium tends to constrict the swimming space within the tank. This makes the planning and design, very important(speaking of which, I have not seen many successful paludarium’s housing goldfish).
